USDA recently launched the Coronavirus Farmers Assistance Program (CFAP) in which they committed to buy $1.2 Billion of food with the goal of helping U.S. farmers during the COVID-19 pandemic. All Faith Community Services in partnership with St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance will be a recipient of these CFAP boxes. All boxes will be prepacked and contain the following items:
Dairy (cheese, milk, yogurt, butter)
Produce (fresh vegetables and/or fruit such as potatoes, onions, carrots, apples, pears, oranges, blueberries, strawberries, tomatoes, sweet potatoes)
Meat (precooked pork and chicken such as chicken nuggets, bacon, pork patties, pork or chicken taco filling)
Combination (of all of the above)
The food from this program will be available on a month- to-month basis.
